It is now the end of March and the Solo Photo Book Month officially starts tomorrow. You can read about the SoFoBoMo project here. From my reading of the “rules” it’s not too late to still get involved.
Colin Jago has posted a good outline of his own SoFoBoMo (Solo Photo Book of the Month) project on his photostream blog on “auspicious dragon“.
His project will be based on pictures taken whilst walking various “tourist” walks around Aberdeen. He plans to actually follow the walks as outlined in the local tourist map and guide, “Aberdeen on Foot“.
He’ll be shooting on good old black and white film (Ilford HP5 400) with a rather “bastardised” Leica camera (it has a Konica lens and other non-Leica bits). Page layout will be with the help of Apple’s Pages application.
It’s a great choice as a project as potentially he could end up with an item that the local tourism industry may well be interested in.
He plans to blog his progress throughout the month - should be an interesting read. I hope he does some of the city walks late on a Saturday night - it could make some of his monochrome images rather colourful to say the least.

It is now mid-March and the start of the “fuzzy” month-long period for the Solo Photo Book Month is now fast approaching. Time to start exercising that shutter button in preparation and brush up on those book / page-layout skills. You can read about the SoFoBoMo project here. Spread the word!
